FLANQ USVs are smart USVs – intelligent, scalable, and highly customisable. Designed for the mission – whatever the mission – they can carry diverse senor and effector payloads and excel in both solo and coordinated, wolf pack deployments.
FLANQ-powered autonomous and remotely controlled underwater vehicles play a critical role in modern defence, enhancing capabilities across surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat missions – from naval base protection to underwater warfare training.
Transform your situational awareness above and below the water. Optimised for size, weight and power and integrated using FLANQ’s Q-KONTROL backbone, our vehicle-agnostic technologies let you sense threats, decide the outcome and enable the response.
Accurate underwater positioning and robust communication are crucial for successful subsea operations. FLANQ USVs offer seamless integration with Sonardyne’s Mini-Ranger 2 and Micro-Ranger 2 USBL systems, from Forcys, providing operators with the tools they need for precise tracking, command and control, and data telemetry with ROVs and AUVs operating at ranges of up to 4,000 metres
Mini-Ranger 2 is a compact and versatile USBL system ideal for use from a wide range of surface platforms including crewed and uncrewed vessels. It provides high-accuracy positioning and robust two-way acoustic communication, enabling precise tracking of ROVs and AUVs and relocation of seabed equipment and instruments. Its robust acoustic link supports data telemetry, allowing for the transmission of sensor data and other critical information.
Micro-Ranger 2 is an ultra-compact and lightweight USBL system designed for smaller USVs and shallow water operations, including special forces diver tracking. Despite its small size, it offers impressive positioning accuracy and reliable acoustic communication capabilities to a range of 995 metres. This makes it ideal for coastal surveys, port security applications, and operations in confined spaces. Like the Mini-Ranger 2, it supports wireless sensor data telemetry.
FLANQ USVs with Sonardyne USBL payloads deliver precise underwater tracking and robust communication for enhanced maritime operations.
Track with the best. Sonardyne is the market leader for USBLs systems with a track record of performance in any water depth, for any operation.
Mini and Micro Ranger 2 USBLs use proprietary Wideband 2+ acoustic signal architecture, delivering precise and repeatable positioning
Mini and Micro Ranger 2 USBLs are designed for novice users to enjoy success thanks to their intuitive UI’s and automated hardware setup tools.
The compact and lightweight design, particularly of the Micro-Ranger 2, makes these systems ideal for integration onto small USVs like T12 with limited payload capacity, without compromising sea keeping performance.

Due to the sensitive nature of underwater positioning and communication technology, export licenses may be required depending on the destination country and the specific configuration of the USBL system. Contact us to discuss your specific export requirements and destination country
Sonardyne USBL systems are known for their robust and reliable acoustic communication performance, even in challenging underwater environments. Data throughput rates depend on factors such as range, water depth, and environmental conditions. We can provide detailed performance specifications and data throughput estimations based on your specific operational scenario. Contact us to discuss your communication needs and data requirements.
Mini-Ranger 2 has a longer operating range – up to 4,000 metres is possible. The surface transceiver is ideally suited a larger USV like the T24 or small patrol vessel. Micro is completely portable – and can be operated from a deck box when it’s not in use on a USV. Its range limited to 995 metres.
Mini-Ranger 2 allows you to communicate with, command and control a swarm of up to ten underwater vehicles simultaneously enabling a co-ordinated strike on threats.
